Parts of The Violin
If you are planning to buy a new violin or have just purchased one you might want to check that the following accessories are available:
First of all, the violin should be
in its case.
Inside The Violin Case
- Two bows
- Rosin for rubbing on the horse hair to improve friction. The bow is ineffective without the rosin. Think of a lucrative motorcar without fuel.
- Dust Cloth for wiping dust from the violin. Remember, this should be your habit after every playing session, otherwise the rosin will stick on the strings as well as the body and this interferes with sound quality.
- Humidity worm. It’s a rubber tube with a fibrous core. The core holds water and keeps violin from over-drying.
- Shoulder Rest usually attached to the violin to aid the neck in keeping the chin on the chin rest.
