STUDENT OF THE YEAR!

Greetings from 2023! As we breath in the fresh air of the new year, we can’t help but take a moment to reflect on the strides we’ve made so far. Every start of the year, we recognize one outstanding student at the DMA Academy. Well, we missed this last year, but all was for good reasons. 2020-2021 was a big transitional year with shifting to a new space as well as focusing on the Hip-Hop project that saw more than 20 artists trained on Music business Skills and some got an opportunity to record their tracks at the DMA studio. Therefore in 2023, we are announcing best student 2021 and 2022.

Our best student for 2021 was Joan Biwott. She pursued piano lessons, doing very well and we must mention this, Joan attended every single lesson of the 45 that sum up the whole curriculum for level one. Joan currently serves at her local church as a pianist. We congratulate you lady and wish you the very best!

In 2022, there was a big tussle. We experienced unmatched dedication from all the students but two of them were very impressive. Mr.Samuel Ndung'u, a choir master and recording artist marveled all of us. Despite being senior, the man is down to earth and showed so much dedication taking Piano, Guitar and Music Production lessons seriously! Since the rivalry was so tough, we decided to award Samuel for a special category, The BEST senior student! He serves at PCEA Church and you can also find his music on youtube here:

And Finally!! Who is our STUDENT OF THE YEAR 2023? None other than the calm Joyce Wanjiru Chege. People say young people are never serious, they never put a mind on a thing and finish. That’s totally not true. Joyce exhibited a composed, dedicated learning attitude that we all admire. She has dreams of playing guitar and piano internationally and we can only wish her the very best.  Congratulations dear Joyce, there’s so much potential in you.

The writer is an award winning author and artist at DMA
